The experienced team at Daver Steels have the capabilities to manufacture from various grades of non-ferrous, stainless, aluminium, & brass.
Our buyers are meticulous, choosing only to purchase CE / UKCA certified, high quality steel of European origin from a range of trusted mills and specialist steel stockholders.
We source sheet, plate, threaded or plain bar, sections & tube for processing in both industry standard sizes & fabricate bespoke section sizes for particular applications or individual customers.
Most clients will have the material spec already determined before our sales team quote on a job.
There are times when we can offer advice on alternative section sizes or best material to manage manufacturing costs while producing the highest quality product.
We supply projects that fabricate multiple parts from different materials.

Did You Know?
Stainless steel is generally known as the metal that does not rust. It would be more accurate to say that it is ‘stainless in the right environment’ ‘Stain-less’ is not ‘completely stain-free’ in any environment.
The choice of stainless steel grade should be made based upon a combination of factors:
Required mechanical properties
Processing, manufacture, and fabrication
Welding processes
Surface finish
Corrosion performance optimised for the environmental conditions
304 Stainless Steel
Type 304 stainless is a general-purpose stainless steel grade with a wide range of applications in construction and engineering.
It is an alloy of 18% Chromium, 8% Nickel, austenitic stainless steel. Sometimes written as 18/8.
304 — 1.4301
Type304 — UNS S30400
304 L — 1.4307
Type 304L — UNS S30403
Grade 304 Stainless Steel References
Sheet – 0.5mm-3mm thick
Plate – 3mm-15mm thick
Heavy plate – 20mm and above
Tube, pipe, castings
hot rolled angle
hot rolled channel section
304 stainless can be welded with MMA, MIG or TIG welding. Grade 304L is better suited when welding is required. 304L has a lower carbon content, which prevents precipitation of complex Cr Carbides at the grain boundaries in the heat-affected zone (sensitisation). The majority of plate and sections are currently double certified as 304/304L, but check for more about welding.
There is a range of surface finishes available for stainless steel see Finishes.

316 Stainless Steel
Type 316 stainless is perhaps most widely known as a ‘marine’ grade stainless steel.
It is a general-purpose stainless steel grade with a wide range of applications in construction and engineering but with better corrosion performance in ‘saline’ or salty conditions.
It is an alloy of 17% Chromium, 11% Nickel, 2% molybdenum – austenitic stainless steel.

What is the surface finish to the Grade 304 and Grade 316 material?
Our standard material is ‘Hot Rolled and Descaled’ mill material. Other surface finishes by arrangement with our Sales Office.
There is a range of surface finishes available for stainless steel, see polishing.
Duplex stainless steels have a superior corrosion performance when compared to 304 & 316 material.
They have a high resistance to pitting and uniform corrosion. The duplex microstructure contributes to their high strength and high resistance to stress corrosion cracking. They also have good weldability. Duplex stainless can be welded with MMA, MIG or TIG welding.
